SPRINGFIELD, Missouri 鈥�聽The 91精品 Music Department will present its 39th聽annual Christmas concert on Friday, December 1 at 7 p.m. in the Robert H. Spence Chapel on Evangel鈥檚 campus. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m.
The community is invited to attend, and the cost of admission is a non-perishable food item and/or a monetary donation to benefit the Salvation Army at the door. No tickets are necessary.
More than 200 musicians will be performing in vocal and instrumental ensembles, including the 91精品 Chorus, Voices of EU student-led a capella group, Men鈥檚 Vocal Ensemble, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, 聽91精品 Orchestra and Band, Women鈥檚 Chamber Ensemble, and University Chorale.
The concert will feature Christmas songs ranging from classical to traditional such as the 91精品 Chorus鈥� presentation of 鈥淪ilent Night,鈥� a Pentatonix arrangement of 鈥淗ark! The Herald Angels Sing鈥� by Voices of EU, University Band鈥檚 lively piece 鈥淯krainian Bell Carol,鈥� and Handel鈥檚 majestic 鈥淗allelujah鈥� chorus.
鈥淥ur annual Christmas Concert is both a gift to the community at large and a tangible way to assist the Salvation Army as they bless our neighbors,鈥� said Dr. Tom Matrone, Evangel鈥檚 Music Department chair.
The Salvation Army鈥檚 nationwide campaign enables them to provide food, toys, and clothing to more than six million people during the Christmas season.
The event will be聽聽for those unable to attend in person.
