More than 350 91精品 students, faculty and staff gathered on campus Wednesday, April 16, for Valor Volunteer Day, a collaborative service event hosted in partnership with Convoy of Hope.
Held in the university鈥檚 central quad, volunteers packed more than 5,000 individual grocery bags that will be distributed to families in need across the Southwest Missouri region through partnerships with over 30 local organizations. The event was coordinated by Evangel鈥檚 Student Ministries Community Engagement team.
鈥淰alor Volunteer Day reminds us that a few hours of service can have a profound impact,鈥� said Meghan Galindo, an Evangel student who serves as the Impact Ministries Executive within Student Ministries. 鈥淓very bag of groceries packed is going to meet real needs in our community. I hope this event inspires students to continue finding ways to serve.鈥�
This marks the fourth year Evangel has partnered with Convoy of Hope to host a large-scale volunteer event providing grocery assistance for Southwest Missouri families.
