We all know Mother鈥檚 Day is a time to honor moms鈥攂ut today, I鈥檇 love for us to see it as something more. It鈥檚 a day to honor every woman. Not all women are mothers, but all women are daughters of God. And that alone makes this day worth celebrating.
In Scripture, we meet two women with world-changing assignments: Eve and Mary. Eve was called the 鈥渕other of all who live.鈥 She was created as an ezer kenegdo鈥攁 phrase that means 鈥渁n indispensable partner.鈥 That same Hebrew word, ezer, is used to describe God when He comes to fight for His people. So no, it doesn鈥檛 mean weak or secondary. It means strong, capable, and essential.
Then there鈥檚 Mary, the mother of Jesus. When the angel Gabriel appeared to her, he said, 鈥淕reetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you.鈥 In a culture that dismissed and diminished women as second-class citizens, God chose Mary to carry the Savior. And she said yes. That yes changed the world.
Jesus continued this pattern throughout His life鈥攔estoring honor to women, calling them 鈥渄aughter,鈥 teaching them, trusting them, and revealing His identity to them.
So, whether you鈥檙e a mom or not, you鈥檙e seen. You鈥檙e called. You have a purpose. Your prayers matter. You reflect the image of God in a way no one else can.
To every woman reading this: You have a divine assignment. God is with you. And your life is making more of a difference than you know.
Happy Mother鈥檚 Day鈥攖o all the daughters of God.
